Sit Dancing is a unique dance programme
specially developed for frail elderly people.
Traditional folk dances from around the world have been adapted and/or transformed to enable those who cannot get up anymore or not as often, to enjoy dancing.
Developer Marcel Baaijens first introduced the programme in New Zealand in 1988 where it quickly enjoyed nationwide popularity within many different communities. It is used by care professionals such as recreational, diversional, occupational and physio therapists.
This enjoyable and easy to implement programme can be learned by studying the DVD and/or by attending a one-day training workshop with Marcel Baaijens.
This DVD/2CD set is intended as reference and teaching guide for those who wish to use this programme as part of their work. It contains an international reportoire of 37 dances which were first released as International Sit and Step Dancing 1, 2 and 3.
