Format: DVD Aspect Ratio: 4:3 Duration: 45 mins Year: 2005 Gone Troppo - Pakeha Papa’a tells the stories of a handful of New Zealanders who have left their homeland to settle in the beautiful but remote Cook Islands - the locals call them Papa’a. Along with a radical priest and a crusty old sea dog we get to meet characters like physicist Dr. Roger Malcolm who gave up being a senior civil servant in Wellington for life on the remote island of Aitu. When he arrived 25 years ago the island had no electricity, no water supply, and best of all, well as far as Malcolm was concerned, “No Rules”. In the main the documentary is filmed on the islands of Rarotonga and Atiu but also visits the uninhabited island of Takutea and what many claim to be the most beautiful atoll in the world, Aitutaki.
