1996 saw the production of another Skitz spin-off called The Semisis, featuring the popular dysfunctional Samoan family from Skitz Milburn Place.

The show's concept had originated with Skitz writers Dave Armstrong and Kerry Jimson. The Script was written by Dave Armstrong with assistance from Danny Mulheron, the cast, and the Milburn Place storylining team - a group of young Samoans from Porirua, a Wellington suburb. Danny Mulheron directed. Three further half-hour episodes of The Semisis were shot in 1997.
